Proven weight loss programs: Profiting From The Obesity Epidemic

29119_128024923888197_5174866_nOh to be trim and slim. Next to the the fountain of youth, what else generates more interest and excitement than weight loss. How to be trim, slender and streamlined?

It is a mistake to assume that overweight people are, happy and jolly and like being overweight. The fact is, they have resigned themselves to what they perceive as their destiny, have tried multiple ways to lose weight and have failed. They are frustrated. If there was a magic pill that could help them lose weight, they would get it no matter what it cost.

Weighing in on America’s Health Crisis — THE OBESITY EPIDEMIC

* Fact: Americans rank #1 in obesity worldwide

* Nearly 70% of adults are overweight, of which 35% are obese.

Being overweight has direct ties to…… SERIOUS HEALTH RISKS

HEART DISEASE

* Leading cause of death for men and women in the United States

* Every year about 720,000 American’s have a heart attack

DIABETES

*29.1 MILLION Americans have diabetes

*Cases have doubled over the last 30 years

HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE

* About 70 million American adults have high blood pressure. That’s about 1 out of every 3 adults.

CANCER: Obesity is also directly linked with increased risk of the following types of cancer….

* Breast * Colorectal *Gallbladder * Liver * Prostate * Kidney * Uterine *Cervical * Endometrial * Pancreatic * Thyroid * Ovarian *Esophageal

DIETING DOESN’T WORK.

Just think of the first three letters in the word diet—-DIE and you can see why so man people hate to go on diets. And when they do, what is the result? Temporary weight loss. They are hungry, tired, irritable, under nourished and generally lose lean tissue and water primarily with very little fat. They end up looking like smaller fat people with lots of FLAB hanging all around.

And then when they go back to their regular foods and eating habits, they put all the weight back on plus some more.

While the title of this article is Profiting from the Obesity Epidemic, it not merely about a money making business opportunity, it is about reaching out with a helping hand to those who are facing this obesity epidemic and don’t know any way to get past it. OBESITY IS A KILLER. MAKE NO MISTAKE ABOUT IT. IF YOU KNEW OF A WAY TO SAVE SOMEONE’S LIFE OR AT LEAST POTENTIALLY EXTEND THEIR LIFE, YOU WOULD WOULDN’T YOU?

MANY HEROIC ATTEMPTS HAVE BEEN MADE TO COMBAT OBESITY

So many programs, diets, pills, lotions etc have been designed to help with weight loss. And what has been the result? Americans are getting fatter every year. Look at these stats:

According to research from the National Institute of Health (“NIH”), the percentage of adults considered overweight, obese, or extremely obese in the U.S. had climbed to 75% by 2010 (and is even higher in recent years).

Source: NIH

Similar to the NIH findings, research from the World Health Organization (“WHO”) estimated that worldwide obesity has more than doubled since 1980 (with 39% of adults being overweight while 13% are obese). This signifies that the weight loss market is gigantic. People need help. What has been out there so far is not working.

The Answer – Targeted Weight Loss Programs that actually work.

I have written several articles here on linkedin about using protein and meal replacement shakes to lose weight, safely, quickly and effectively. And perhaps even more importantly, have a overall eating plan and program that will keep the weight off permanently.

With so many shakes on the market, why use this one? Because it uses complex carbohydrates, not refined sugars like 99% of the other shakes out there, it also contains complete protein with all of the amino acids in the right balance so can be utilized completely by the body unlike 99% of the other shakes out there. It also provides soluable fiber which fills you up and helps you eliminate, contains 50% or more of the known and many unknown vitamins and minerals, essential fatty acids, digestants, herbs, nutraceuticals and more.

There is no other shake on the market that even comes close. I feel very qualified to say that in that I have been using protein shakes since 1964.

I have had clients who wouldn’t buy or did buy this product from me awhile back, then switched to one of the cheaper OTC shakes and now are coming back. Why? Those other shakes didn’t deliver. They are cheaper for a reason.

With this shake you get all the nutrition your body needs hence you are not starving and looking for something sweet to eat which blows your diet. And it is also time released so you get a constant flow of nutrition all day long unlike those other shakes where you get one big shot and 1 hour later you are looking for something to eat again.

Even if you are getting good quality nutrition, there is a good chance, especially if you are past 40, even 30 that you are not absorbing those nutrients. Over years of faulty eating, our bodies get clogged and cannot use the nutrients we take in. Hence we need to cleanse our system. Enter this product:

Reneu is a colon, inner body and total body cleanser. It removes toxins and poisins and allows your body to utilize the nutrients from the shake and other quality foods you will be eating. We have all heard that the average person has 7-25 lbs of undigested matter in their body. It is true. Eating a high fiber diet alone will not get rid of it. Reneu will.

Client talked to a friend of hers who turned out to be a self styled self proclaimed nutriton “expert” who read some books and articles. He advised my client that she could get a good cleansing product at any good health food store and for less money than what mine cost. RESULT? She came back and bought my product again. Why? She got the worse case of diarhea from that other herbal product that the “expert” recommended and had an embarrassing accident in front of family and friends. Be careful what you buy and who you take advice from.

As we age, our metabolisms slow down. We move less and are not as active. Even younger people have slow metabolisms. That was my problem, all my life which is why I was always flabby for as long as I can remember, even when I only weighed 100 lbs.!!!!!!

So to resolve that issue, we offer Xanolean Supreme. A natural and safe fat burner. This product will melt the fat right off you.

Xanolean works like the fat burners of the 1990s except it is safe. I’ve been using it and I had a heart attack 8 years ago so have to be very careful on what I take. This is like aerobics in a bottle.

There are other fat burner products out there. Many are just over priced caffeine capsules or tablets. REMEMBER: You want a product that actually burns fat. Ours does. The others………………..?????????????????????

Finally there is Trimbolic. If you are like me and have those love handles on the sides of your waist, fatty tissue on the back of your upper thighs and across your lower back, this product is for you. Great for women who have cellulite. That fat gone wrong on the hips, buttocks and thighs. I will only add that I used to have love handles, fatty tissue. NO MORE. GONE! Thanks to Trimbolic along with the other FFN products, dieting and exercise. NOTE: Dieting and exercise alone did not do it for me. Nor did just the shakes, cleanser and fat burner. It was adding Trimbolic that made the difference.

We have the products. The challenge is getting them out to the people who never even heard of us. Our company has been around since 1989—-28 years of service and millions of happy customers —–YET MILLIONS MORE NEVER EVEN HEARD OF US!!!! We need to spread the word.

How lucrative is this industry?

I hope I won’t offend anybody by talking marketing and $$$$. Let’s take a look at the opportunity we have here.

Timing: THE WELLNESS REVOLUTION

* $955 Billion is spent annually on weight loss, nutrition, beauty and anti-aging products

* The financial opportunity created by the wellness industry for entrepreneurs is now greater than ever before.

Economist Paul Zane Pilzer predicted in the 2000’s that wellness would become the next trillion $$$$ industry. He was conservative

WELLNESS IS NOW OVER A $3.4 TRILLION $$$ GLOBAL INDUSTRY

3X BIGGER THAN THE WORLDWIDE PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY.

But I don’t want to get into one of those Network Marketing/MLM deals. Too many people already doing that. It is saturated. ENT!

FACT: 55,000 Americans join a network marketing company every week! It is now bigger than ever and growing faster than ever.

You’re  at the right place in the right time. Even if you don’t join FFN today, it is very likely that your family, your friends, your co-workers will be joining FFN or another network marketing company and asking you to join them. So why don’t you take a serious look at this opportunity, become a professional over the next 2.5 – 3 years and capitalize on the gold rush of supplemental income.

And even if your weight is under control right now, you probably want to stay trim or use our targeted skin are, wellness, nutrition or sports supplements.

Weight loss is our flagship program. Because it is such a big issue. But there is much more.

Why do we gain weight as we get older? By Tony DeFrancisco

Remember those good old days when we were teenagers, could go out put down a huge burger or two or three, fries and a malt and never gain a pound? Wasn’t that wonderful? But now we merely smell a french fry and we gain 3 pounds! OMG. What happened?

Let’s take a look at why this happens. First off, when we are younger, we are more active. We are young and having fun. We engage in sports, football, basketball, wrestling, track & field or baseball. Then we swim and go to dances. We’re moving a lot more.

Also, at this young age our hormones are producing at the maximum which induces burning calories. Life is good. Everything is wonderful. We are free, having fun and looking good. At least many of us anyway.

For me, I had to fight obesity all my life. Even when I only weighed 100 lbs I was flabby. Small and flabby. Some people do have an issue with overweight even in their younger years. Most do not.

Moving along, we go to college. Life is more serious now. We are getting close to moving out into the working world. So now there are frat parties and weekend flings. And this is when most of us start to gain weight.

Welcome to your freshman year

The scale creep for this decade actually begins in your late teens. For the millions of new students heading off to college in the U.S., the dining hall is one of the first sources of significant weight gain. Many students do not have any understanding of food, nutrition, and cooking, and yet they have an array of wonderful foods to choose from at a college dining hall, So many choices and many times, the wrong choices.

And then in addition to cafeterias, many campuses have separate on-site eateries, vending machines, and snack bars (not to mention the alcohol) that “help” you gain the infamous freshman (or sophomore/junior/senior) 15.

And then we hit the fast food places after school. Easy and convenient. ALSO fattening, high calorie, high fat and low nutrition.

This continues to graduation. Now it’s on to the real world and your first job.

You move less

For many young people, this decade ushers in their very first nine-to-five job. While not all jobs require sitting at a desk all day, most do. In fact, the number of sedentary jobs has increased 83 percent since the 1950s, and work weeks often last longer than the typical 40 hours, as technology continues to blur the line between work and non-work hours.

In your teens, as mentioned above, you probably spent your free time playing sports or doing some kind of physical activity. But with 40+ hours per week parked at a desk, there’s probably a major drop in your daily activity level — even if you do manage to get a workout or two in during the week. You probably say, “Hey, I am an adult now. I have responsibilites. I don’t have time to workout.”

Life is good. You are enjoying your new life. Your 9-5 job. You have a sedentary desk job. Probaly take the elevator and park as close to your office as possible. The pounds are starting to pile on, but you hardly notice. And you probably say, “No problem, I can always lose it on my own.” (Yeah right!)

Life happens

Adulting is hard. Living on your own, paying bills, and other responsibilities that you’ve never had to deal with before are now part of your daily routine. Newfound independence can trigger major stress, another notable culprit when to comes to gaining weight.

“In your 20s, the main culprit to weight gain is stress, which causes high cortisol, one of your body’s key fat-storage hormones,” says Dr. Sara Gottfried, bestselling author of “The Hormone Cure” and “The Hormone Reset Diet.”

Cortisol, a hormone released in response to stress, can wreak havoc on our bodies, she adds. Help reset your cortisol levels by weaning yourself off alcohol for three days, which can help your sleep and stress levels, Gottfried suggests.

Lack of sleep

Speaking of, everyone needs more sleep, period. But this is when the lack of it begins to have a serious impact on your life and health as a whole.

Sleep goes hand in hand with weight maintenance for a number of reasons. First off, plenty of quality sleep can help you power through tough workouts. Lack of sleep can decrease your endurance, which can make it harder to give it your all.

Not racking up enough zzs can mess with your hunger hormones, which can lead to weight gain — even if you eat clean and work out regularly. Your stomach produces ghrelin, a hormone that tells the brain we’re hungry, and production of ghrelin can ramp up when we’re continually not getting enough sleep. In addition, your body may ramp up cortisol production if you don’t get enough sleep.

If you’re having trouble getting quality sleep, try some natural remedies before you reach for the quick-fix over-the-counter stuff.

TIP: We have all heard of drink a warm glass of milk before bedtime. Our mothers taught us this. That or a hot cup of cocoa helps. I have found that drinking a protein shake before bedtime relaxes me and also provides me with nutrition which nourishes my body all night long and I sleep like a baby. Try it. Much better than OTC stuff that is harmful to your health.

Bad diet

Feeding yourself is also part of your new adulting role. But at this point in your life, you may not have a ton of healthy recipes or proper nutrition information under your belt. And with an endless array of food-delivery services at your fingertips, it’s easy for your eating habits to run amok.

Tips to maintain your weight in your 20s:

  • Try to make cheesy fries, chips, and pizza the occasional treat, not on the reg.
  • Ditch coffee after 12 p.m. or if you’re legally drinking alcohol, ahem, then try taking a break for a few days.
  • Stick to a regular bedtime and skip screen time in the bedroom.
  • Learn how to cook and prep balanced meals in proper portions and pack your own lunch to bring to work to stay on track.
  • Eat more high protein foods like lean meats, fish and fowl. Also add a protein shake. To keep weight under control, replace one or two meals per day with a quality meal replacement, high protein, nutritional shake.

Why You Gain Weight In Your 30s

You start to lose muscle and gain fat

In your 30s, you start to lose lean tissue. While muscle decline may not be noticeable at first, the average person loses around five pounds of muscle every decade after 30, according to Gottfried. At the same time, body fat creeps up steadily after you hit the big 3-0.

Your hormones start to change

In terms of hormonal changes, women face “estrogen dominance” during this decade, which means they have more estrogen than progesterone.

“One reason estrogen dominance is connected to fat-loss resistance is because of the cross-talk between two important hormones of metabolism: insulin and estrogen,” Gottfried says. This increase in estrogen may cause you to gain more total body fat and abdominal fat.

You have kids

“As young parents raise their children in sometimes chaotic homes with many activities and needs, regular mealtimes and home-cooked meals may be in short supply,” Roy says. Even the most well-intentioned families can default to fast food between soccer practice, play dates, homework, and piano lessons.

But convenience meals — fast food, take-out, pre-packaged meals — are usually highly processed and filled with fat, sodium, and/or sugar.

If you are cooking at home, then you may be fighting a losing battle against a small (literally) army of picky eaters or a partner who isn’t that concerned about weight loss.

Tips to maintain your weight in your 30s:

  • Planning healthy recipes ahead of time and get your meal prep on point.
  • Plan active family outings like post-dinner walks, weekend hikes, and bike rides.
  • Kill two birds with one stone by doing fitness + nutrition programs that help you build muscle, burn fat and get your diet and nutrition in order
  • Include resistance (weight) training to build and increase lean tissue
  • Lean tissue burns calories even at rest. When you lose lean tissue, fat storage increases
  • If you don’t have time to join a gym, freehand exercises are a great alternative
  • Consider setting up an inexpensive home gym with basics, barbells, dumbells, weight bench, pulley, leg machine and chinning bar. This can be acquired very inexpensively.
  • Cut down or totally eliminate eating at fast food places.
  • Consider meal replacement shakes and supplements.

Why You Gain Weight In Your 40s

Women may enter menopause

For women, this decade may include a major life change: menopause. While everyone is different, women experience menopause between 40 and 58 years old (though some women can experience it as early as their 30s or as late as their 60s).

Hormonal changes brought on by menopause can add extra weight around the midsection. In addition, irritability, hot flashes, and other symptoms of menopause may have you feeling a whole lot less motivated to work out.

Testosterone declines

While men and women both produce testosterone, a decline in this hormone is a factor in age-related weight-gain for men. This decline occurs gradually from ages 40 to 65, according to Gottfried. Lower testosterone can increase fat levels, reduce strength, and negatively affect sleep.

Tips to maintain your weight in your 40s:

  • Plan ahead by laying out your workout clothes the night before. Or stash them in your car so you can workout after work, or wake up a little earlier to squeeze in a home workout.
  • Prioritize sleep to help keep cortisol in check.
  • Increase resistance training to help bump up testosterone levels, recommends Gottfried.
  • Try to workout with weights at least 3-4 times per week
  • Follow a split routine, working half your body one day, the other half the next.
  • Keep your body nourished with hi protein foods, shakes and supplements.

Resistance training enables you to build more lean tissue and stimulate the natural hormones within your body even when in your 40s, 50s and beyond.

Why You Gain Weight In Your 50s and Beyond

Insulin resistance can go down the drain

“Once you hit 50, low testosterone, plus rising blood sugar and insulin levels cause weight gain,” Gottfried says. If you have insulin resistance, that means your cells can’t absorb the extra blood glucose the body generates from the food you eat. Consequently, the liver converts that glucose into fat, which can lead to weight gain.

Your body may not work like it used to

Physical limitations — from osteoporosis and arthritis to hip, knee, and other joint problems— can limit movement, Roy says. While some age-related conditions won’t make it impossible to get in a good workout, achy joints can make it harder to run, jump, or lift like you used to.

Weight gain can turn into weight loss

Men often gain weight until they’re around 55 and then start to lose weight as they age further. Women, on the other hand, tend to gain weight until they turn 65. This shift from weight gain to loss usually happens because fat replaces lean muscle tissue, and muscle weighs more than fat by volume.

This being said, don’t just follow your scale. While some men may find their weight normalizing, check the mirror and you may see something else happening. Handlebars on the sides of the waist and around the lower back. Sagging pectorals, flab around the arms and other areas.

Same happens with women.

Tips to maintain your weight in your 50s and beyond:

  • If you’re unable to be as active as you were in your 30s and 40s, adjust your meal portions to avoid overeating.
  • Continue to do resistance training to help keep your bones strong, and eat plenty of high-quality protein.
  • Continue to manage stress — yoga, meditate, practice breathing exercises, take long baths — whatever helps you relax.
  • Feeling creaky? Focus on low-impact workouts and other types of exercise that are easier on your joints.
  • Great cardio at this point in your life is walking or running on the treadmill, cycling on the lifecyle, using the stairstepper, swimming or even just brisk walking for at least 20 minutes non stop.
  • Continue the weight training. Should be lower intensity, higher reps.Work the large body parts especially, legs, hips, chest/bust, stomach as well as the whole body.
  • While you can’t spot reduce, specializing on certain trouble areas when combined with dieting, cardio and working the whole body will tone up those problem areas.

The Good News

Gaining weight as you get older isn’t inevitable; everyone’s body is different and you may not experience all of the factors mentioned above. While your activity levels, hormones, and body composition do change with age, a consistently healthy lifestyle — balanced diet and regular exercise — can help keep your weight under control. “Aging can be beautiful, healthy, and strong,” says Gottfried.

A misconception is that when we get older, we should stop exercising. This is when we need it more than ever.

Other factors

Some other issues are that as we age, we accumulate more and more undigested foods, especially meat in our colons. It has been estimated that a 40 year old has anywhere from 7 to 25 lbs of undigested foods lodged in their colons and digestive tracts. That pot belly is very often foods we ate a very long time ago that never left us. Imagine keeping food in your refridgerator for 25 years or more. What would that be like?

Aside from the obvious, undigested foods blocks your body from assimilating nutritients from the foods we eat. Therefore the body sends out a signal that says, “I’m still hungry.” So we eat more.

We also accumulate candida albacans in our systems. These little rascals force us to crave sweets. It gets worse as we age.

Most of our protein comes from high calorie, high fat meats. Too many calories. Too much fat.

Tips:

Include more soluble fiber in your diet. Soluble fiber has more of a cleansing affect than ordinary fiber foods. Use a good herbal supplement that cleanses the colon and entire digestive tract. This will eliminate stored meats, particles of other foods and canadida albacans.

To get more quality protein, eat lean meats, and fish and use a good protein shake derived from whey that contains the essential amino acids in the right balance. PLUS vitamins, minerals, anti-oxidants, herbs, and digestants.

Protein and how it speeds up weight loss. By Tony DeFrancisco, First Fitness Supervisor

This article includes information about using high protein foods to drop weight fast. I knew before even writing this that it would be controversial and expect a lot of feedback regarding high protein foods and meal replacements to lose weight.

You might ask how I am qualified to write on weight loss. First, I have been involved in physical culture since 1964. Lifting weights, eating good healthy foods and taking nutritional supplements.

From 1969 to 1976 I competed in powerlifting competitions. In 1973 I won a slew of district and regional titles and went on to place in the top five in the world in the AAU Sr Nationals and later that year, in the World Championships.

It occurred to me at that time that IF I could drop down to the next lighter weight class and keep my strength level, I could very well become one of the very best in the world.

I tried numerous diets. Lost weight, but also lost strength. So whereas I got my weight down to the next lighter weight class, I was no more effective than at the heavier class due to strength loss.

It was at this point that I started experimenting with high protein diets using at first real foods like meats, eggs, chicken, fish etc. This worked much better than the other diets. I lost weight. Kept more of the muscle and strength. But to get my weight down to the 165 lb class, I had to severely limit my caloric intake and when I did that, I once again lost strength.

Shortly thereafter, I began experimenting with high protein meal replacement shakes. It was unheard of back then. I reasoned that these shakes provided as much protein as a steak but with so few calories and fat.

I continued to eat high protein foods in my regular meals like beef, chicken, tuna and so on and substituted two meals per day with with the meal replacement shake. The weight melted off of me. However, what was remarkable was that I kept muscle while losing fat. I lost very little if any strength. Actually matched my record lifts in the heavier weight class. Some of my powerlifting peers thought I was loading up on steriods. Here is the kicker: I was drug free. They weren’t.

Since 1976, I have been a weight control consultant/wellness coach and have assisted several thousand people with weight loss and wellness. Many of my clients lost from 30 lbs to 300 lbs following the programs I recommended. And these were people who had major issues losing weight in the past.

In the late 1970s, I operated several gyms in Central Pa. and was a counselor for the former Jack LaLanne-European Health Spas in Reading, Pa. working the gym floor with many members, designing workout programs and demonstrating correct exercise techniques.

Since 2015, I have been working as a wellness coach for FFN and in particular, marketing a weight loss program called Suddenly Slim. While I am embarrassed to admit this, through shear neglect I allowed my weight to creep up to 255 lbs. I was over 125 lbs above what my ideal weight should be. I thought what kind of example am I to help other people with weight loss and wellness since I was so obesely fat myself?

So I went back to my roots, working out, eating high protein foods and taking a popular herbal weight loss program. I would lose 35-40 lbs but then regain 45 lbs – 50 lbs back. It was the classic yo-yo syndrome. I felt like a giant yo-yo and the weight kept coming on.

I suffered a myo carditis attack and congestive heart failure. If you are not familiar with myo carditis, the best way to explain it is it is as though someone takes both of their hands, reaches inside you and squeezes your heart. I felt like Hulk Hogan or Brock Lesnar had me in a tight bearhug and were squeezing the life out of me.

At the same time, I was diagnosed as having a tumor in my left kidney. It was growing fast and needed to be removed. I spent 3 weeks in the hospital and was put on massive medications.

I don’t like to take medicine. It doesn’t agree with me. I don’t take any drugs, Not even aspirin and that is why I stayed away from steriods in my powerlifting heyday.

THE MEDICATIONS my doctors prescribed (I had three doctors; family MD, urologist, and a heart specialist) had adverse affects on me. I started to gain weight like crazy and was always so sluggish. So while I had gotten my weight down to 205-210 it quickly jumped to 255 and then the yo-yo syndrome.

In September 2015, I had had it my weight and started FFN’s program Suddenly Slim. The weight literally melted off of me. Over the last 20 months, my weight has dropped from 255 lbs all the way to 149 lbs. I haven’t seen that weight since my grade school years. Most significantly, it was like in my powerlifting days. I lost fat but kept the muscle. I can still push some heavy iron when I workout. I was no longer tired and sluggish.

One of the products I used is called Reneu. It is a colon and internal cleanser. It removes toxins and poisons from the body. The poisons which I believe came from the medications prescribed by my doctors.

I started getting other people using the program and they also got incredible results. The secret is eating high protein foods and meal replacements in particular. I know this is not new. Most people have used a shake at one time or another. What may be new for you is using a high quality meal replacement shake, that contains complete protein, is absorbed by the body and in conjunction with a inner cleanse program which removes toxins and poisons and a fat burner that gently stimulates fat loss.

What I found with myself and with working with thousands of clients is that the high carb, fiber diets or eating regular foods and traditional diets just don’t work. You may lose weight, but not necessarily fat and will not keep muscle. (Read the article for more details) And you will quickly regain the weight. With high protein foods, you take the weight off quickly and most importantly keep it off. And it is a safe way to lose weight.

Keep this in mind:

Every extra pound of lean tissue will enable you to burn an extra 40 calories even at rest. Yes. Even while you sleep! This is why maintaining and adding lean tissue is so important to everyone.

And the reverse is also true. Every pound of lean tissue you lose will slow down your metabolism and cause you to stay overweight and gain even more weight.

When you retain lean tissue, you also look better. Men look more athletic. Women have more curves. It is healthier for you too.

A mantra I came up with in the 1970s when I first started as a wellness coach was that regarding meal replacements, “They tone you up while they slim you down.” And they do. People who follow the hi protein meal replacement programs look like they went to a health spa for several months, even though no exercise was included. Also their outer appearance was amazing. Hair, skin, nail looked incredible. People looked more youthful. Some looked like they had a facelift done although this was not the case. It was the protein.

One final thing about protein; it must be complete protein, quality protein to work. It must contain all of the essential amino acids and in the proper ratio to be effective. Most of these cheap shakes you see in stores do not contain complete protein hence many people are disappointed with their results. Body FX contains quality, complete protein.

Like I said, I was using a very popular Herbal weight loss shake that was pretty good but was not getting the results I wanted. I also tried many products sold in stores even the supposedly better products sold in health food stores. Nothing has worked like this for myself and my clients.

That is enough about me, now on to the article about protein.

Protein is the single most important nutrient for weight loss and a better looking body.

A high protein intake boosts metabolism, reduces appetite and changes several weight-regulating hormones.

Protein can help you lose weight and belly fat, and it works via several different mechanisms.

This is a detailed review of the effects of protein on weight loss.

Protein Changes The Levels of Several Weight Regulating Hormones

Your weight is actively regulated by your brain, particularly an area called the hypothalamus.

In order for your brain to determine when and how much to eat, it processes multiple different types of information.

Some of the most important signals to the brain are hormones that change in response to feeding.

A higher protein intake actually increases levels of the satiety (appetite-reducing) hormones GLP-1peptide YY and cholecystokinin, while reducing your levels of the hunger hormone ghrelin .

By replacing carbs and fat with protein, you reduce the hunger hormone and boost several satiety hormones.

This leads to a major reduction in hunger and is the main reason protein helps you lose weight. It can make you eat fewer calories automatically.

Bottom Line: Protein reduces levels of the hunger hormone ghrelin, while it boosts the appetite-reducing hormones GLP-1, peptide YY and cholecystokinin. This leads to an automatic reduction in calorie intake.

Digesting and Metabolizing Protein Burns Calories

One of the best ways to get concentrated amounts of protein with very low fat and calories is with a quality meal replacement shake. The shakes are delicious, easy to prepare and economical. The one caveat of getting protein solely from regular foods is the caloric and fat content. Makes weight loss slower.

After you eat, some calories are used for the purpose of digesting and metabolizing the food.

This is often termed the thermic effect of food (TEF).

Although not all sources agree on the exact figures, it is clear that protein has a much higher thermic effect (20-30%) compared to carbs (5-10%) and fat (0-3%).

If we go with a thermic effect of 30% for protein, this means that 100 calories of protein only end up as 70 usable calories.

Bottom Line: About 20-30% of protein calories are burned while the body is digesting and metabolizing the protein.

Protein Makes You Burn More Calories (Increases “Calories Out”)

Due to the high thermic effect and several other factors, a high protein intake tends to boost metabolism.

It makes you burn more calories around the clock, including during sleep.

A few of the newer meal replacement shakes offer the ideal 50-30-20 ratio of carbs, protein and fats. Watch out for shakes that are merely high fiber and high carbs. Or products that use low grade protein sources. Below is the product that I have been using since September 2015.

A high protein intake has been shown to boost metabolism and increase the amount of calories burned by about 80 to 100 per day .

This effect is particularly pronounced during overfeeding, or while eating at a caloric surplus. In one study, overfeeding with a high protein diet increased calories burned by 260 per day.

By making you burn more calories, high protein diets have a “metabolic advantage” over diets that are lower in protein.

Bottom Line: A high protein intake can make you burn 80-100 more calories per day, with one study showing an increase of 260 calories during overfeeding.

Protein Reduces Appetite and Makes You Eat Fewer Calories

Protein can reduce hunger and appetite via several different mechanisms.

This can lead to an automatic reduction in calorie intake.

In other words, you end up eating fewer calories without having to count calories or consciously control portions.

Numerous studies have shown that when people increase their protein intake, they start eating fewer calories.

This works on a meal-to-meal basis, as well as a sustained day-to-day reduction in calorie intake as long as protein intake is kept high.

In one study, protein at 30% of calories caused people to automatically drop their calorie intake by 441 calories per day, which is a huge amount.

So, high protein diets not only have a metabolic advantage – they also have an “appetite advantage,” making it much easier to cut calories compared to lower protein diets.

Bottom Line: High-protein diets are highly satiating, so they lead to reduced hunger and appetite compared to lower protein diets. This makes it much easier to restrict calories on a high-protein diet.

Protein Cuts Cravings and Reduces Desire for Late-Night Snacking

Cravings are the dieter’s worst enemy.

They are one of the biggest reasons why people tend to fail on their diets.

Another major problem is late-night snacking. Many people who have a tendency to gain weight get cravings at night, so they snack in the evening. These calories are added on top of all the calories they ate during the day.

Interestingly, protein can have a powerful effect on both cravings and the desire to snack at night.

This graph is from a study comparing a high-protein diet and a normal-protein diet in overweight men:

The high-protein group is the blue bar, while the normal-protein group is the red bar.

In this study, protein at 25% of calories reduced cravings by 60% and cut the desire for late-night snacking by half!

Breakfast may be the most important meal to load up on the protein. In one study in teenage girls, a high-protein breakfast significantly reduced cravings.

Bottom Line: Eating more protein can lead to major reductions in cravings and the desire to snack late at night. These changes should make it much easier to stick to a healthy diet.

Protein Makes You Lose Weight, Even Without Conscious Calorie Restriction

Protein works on both sides of the “calories in vs calories out” equation. It reduces calories in and boosts calories out.

For this reason, it is not surprising to see that high-protein diets lead to weight loss, even without intentionally restricting calories, portions, fat or carbs.

In one study of 19 overweight individuals, increasing protein intake to 30% of calories caused a massive drop in calorie intake:

In this study, the participants lost an average of 11 pounds over a period of 12 weeks. Keep in mind that they only added protein to their diet, they did not intentionally restrict anything.

Although the results aren’t always this dramatic, the majority of studies do show that high-protein diets lead to significant weight loss.

A higher protein intake is also associated with less belly fat, the harmful fat that builds up around the organs and causes disease.

All that being said, losing weight is not the most important factor. It is keeping it off in the long-term that really counts.

Many people can go on “a diet” and lose weight, but most end up gaining the weight back.

Interestingly, a higher protein intake can also help prevent weight regain. In one study, a modest increase in protein intake (from 15 to 18% of calories) reduced weight regain after weight loss by 50%.

So not only can protein help you lose weight, it can also help you keep it off in the long-term.

Bottom Line: Eating a high-protein diet can cause weight loss, even without calorie counting, portion control or carb restriction. A modest increase in protein intake can also help prevent weight regain.

Protein Helps Prevent Muscle Loss and Metabolic Slowdown

Traditional dieting is oh so frustrating, but it doesn’t have to be. We have the answer.

Weight loss doesn’t always equal fat loss.

When you lose weight, muscle mass tends to be reduced as well.

However, what you really want to lose is body fat, both subcutaneous fat (under the skin) and visceral fat (around organs).

Losing muscle is a side effect of weight loss that most people don’t want.

Another side effect of losing weight is that the metabolic rate tends to decrease.

In other words, you end up burning fewer calories than you did before you lost the weight.

This is often referred to as “starvation mode,” and can amount to several hundred fewer calories burned each day.

Eating plenty of protein can reduce muscle loss, which should help keep your metabolic rate higher as you lose body fat.

Strength training is another major factor that can reduce muscle loss and metabolic slowdown when losing weight.

For this reason, a high protein intake and heavy strength training are two incredibly important components of an effective fat loss plan.

Not only do they help keep your metabolism high, they also make sure that what is underneath the fat actually looks good. Without protein and strength training, you may end up looking “skinny-fat” instead of fit and lean.

Bottom Line: Eating plenty of protein can help prevent muscle loss when you lose weight. It can also help keep your metabolic rate high, especially when combined with heavy strength training.

How Much Protein is Optimal?

The DRI (Dietary Reference Intake) for protein is only 46 and 56 grams for the average woman and man, respectively.

This amount may be enough to prevent deficiency, but it is far from optimal if you are trying to lose weight (or gain muscle).

Most of the studies on protein and weight loss expressed protein intake as a percentage of calories.

According to these studies, aiming for protein at 30% of calories seems to be very effective for weight loss.

You can find the number of grams by multiplying your calorie intake by 0.075. For example, on a 2000 calorie diet you would eat 2000 * 0.075 = 150 grams of protein.

You can also aim for a certain number based on your weight. For example, aiming for 0.7-1 gram of protein per pound of lean mass is a common recommendation (1.5 – 2.2 grams per kilogram).

It is best to spread your protein intake throughout the day by eating protein with every meal.

Keep in mind that these numbers don’t need to be exact, anything in the range of 25-35% of calories should be effective.

More details in this article: How Much Protein Should You Eat Per Day?

Bottom Line: In order to lose weight, aiming for 25-35% of calories as protein may be optimal. 30% of calories amounts to 150 grams of protein on a 2000 calorie diet.

How to Get More Protein in Your Diet

One of the tricks my wife and I use is to make a pitcher of Body FX Protein and eat it late at night in place of conventional junk food. It tastes delicious. Curbs and appetite and fuels the body with good quality nutrition.

Or a small dish of cottage cheese.

When eating out, stick to good quality foods like seafood, lean meats and so on.

A higher protein intake actually increases levels of the satiety (appetite-reducing) hormones GLP-1peptide YY and cholecystokinin, while reducing your levels of the hunger hormone ghrelin.

After you eat, some calories are used for the purpose of digesting and metabolizing the food.

This is often termed the thermic effect of food (TEF).

Although not all sources agree on the exact figures, it is clear that protein has a much higher thermic effect (20-30%) compared to carbs (5-10%) and fat (0-3%) (11).

Protein Reduces Appetite and Makes You Eat Fewer Calories

Protein can reduce hunger and appetite via several different mechanisms (1).

This can lead to an automatic reduction in calorie intake.

In other words, you end up eating fewer calories without having to count calories or consciously control portions.

Numerous studies have shown that when people increase their protein intake, they start eating fewer calories.

How to Get More Protein in Your Diet

Increasing your protein intake is simple. Just eat more of protein-rich foods.

These include:

  • Meats: Chicken, turkey, lean beefpork, etc.
  • Fish: Salmon, sardines, haddock, trout, etc.
  • Eggs: All types.
  • Dairy: Milkcheeseyogurt, etc.
  • Legumes: Kidney beans, chickpeas, lentils, etc.
  • You can find a long list of healthy high-protein foods in this article.

If you’re eating low-carb, then you can choose fattier cuts of meat. If you’re not on a low-carb diet then try to emphasize lean meats as much as possible. This makes it easier to keep protein high without getting too many calories.

Taking a protein supplement can also be a good idea if you struggle to reach your protein goals. Whey protein powder has been shown to have numerous benefits, including increased weight loss. I have been using a quality protein shake which has the ideal 50-30-20 ratio of carbs, protein and fats. It is also high grade protein which is easily assimilable by the body.

BEWARE! Many of the popular protein shakes contain high amounts of sugar to make them tasty and use low grade protein that cannot be used effectively by the human body.

Even though eating more protein is simple when you think about it, actually integrating this into your life and nutrition plan can be difficult.

I recommend that you use a calorie/nutrition tracker in the beginning. Weigh and measure everything you eat in order to make sure that you are hitting your protein targets.

You don’t need to do this forever, but it is very important in the beginning until you get a good idea of what a high-protein diet looks like.

Bottom Line: There are many high-protein foods you can eat to boost your protein intake. It is recommended to use a nutrition tracker in the beginning to make sure that you are getting enough.

Protein is The Easiest, Simplest and Most Delicious Way to Lose Weight

When it comes to fat loss and a better looking body, protein is the king of nutrients.

You don’t need to restrict anything to benefit from a higher protein intake. It is all about adding to your diet.

This is particularly appealing because most high-protein foods also taste really good. Eating more of them is easy and satisfying.

A high-protein diet can also be an effective obesity prevention strategy, not something that you just use temporarily to lose fat.

By permanently increasing your protein intake, you tip the “calories in vs calories out” balance in your favor.

Over months, years or decades, the difference in your waistline could be huge.

However, keep in mind that calories still count. Protein can reduce hunger and boost metabolism, but you won’t lose weight if you don’t eat fewer calories than you burn.

It is definitely possible to overeat and negate the calorie deficit caused by the higher protein intake, especially if you eat a lot of junk food.

For this reason, you should still base your diet mostly on whole, single ingredient foods.

Although this article focused only on weight loss, protein also has numerous other benefits for health.

Meats are very high in protein. Unfortunately, also very high in fat. While following a high protein diet consisting of meats will yield faster weight loss results than traditional diets, weight losses will be slower than with quality meal replacement shakes.

Summer is almost here. Lose Weight Now. By Tony DeFrancisco

15799856_10157950058555623_8467111258466175841_o ffTonyDeFrancisco,  FirstFitness Nutrition, Supervisor/Wellness Coach

Ask anyone about losing weight and you will get a myriad of answers.

“Just cut back on what you eat”

“You have to diet and exercise”

“I don’t need any special program. I can do it on my own”

When I hear people say this I have to chuckle. And when I check back with them 3 months, 6 months, a year later, guess what? Not only have they not lost any weight, they have actually put even more weight on. If it was so easy, how come no results?

I have been battling the battle of the bulge all my life. Literally since childhood. Even with lifting weights and taking food supplements, it was always a battle.

However, in 1974 while making weight for powerlifting competitions, I discovered a secret – Protein shakes and high protein foods. Previously when I lost weight, I also lost muscle, strength and looked flabby. Now I look toned up, maintained strength and actually went on to break state and national records in the sport of powerlifting, even after losing over 20 lbs in a short period. This was unheard of back then. It was my secret, at that time.

In 1976, I became a wellness coach for a company called Slender Now. They were as far as I know, the first company to market a professionally designed weight loss program evolving around a diet shake.

In 1990, I became part of First Fitness. Their product was very similar to Slender Now and had additional herbs and in fact was created by the same man who created Slender Now.

18 months ago, I reconnected with First Fitness. I personally have lost over 100 lbs during that time and maintaining my weight loss at age 66, a time when many people gain weight and losing weight is very difficult. Others as in the picture on the headline, have done even better.

So the million $$$ question is, what makes products like First Fitness so special and why use this instead of just doing it on your own? The people I have met over the years are far and few between who were able to do it on their own. When they cut down on calories, they cut down on nutrition. When they diet, they get hungry, tired and irritable. Having worked in sales and in management for many health clubs, very few stay with a exercise program. Attrition is very high. And even exercise, as good as it is can’t help you lose weight on it’s on. Nor do typical diets. I know I have tried them over the years.

And if they do it on their own and lose weight, very few are able to keep it off. It comes right back on again. Not only do they regain the weight they lost, they gain even more.  And on and on it goes.

What I discovered back in the 1970s when I was competing in powerlifting and then again with customers with Slender Now and First Fitness, is that when you offer people concentrated nutrition, they don’t get hungry, tired or irritable. They stay on the program. They get results and they get all of the nutrition they need.

I also discovered that people need to eat real food too. So with our program, you eat one or two colorful meal per day and  one or two meal replacements. NOTE: Not all shakes are meal replacements. Some are only protein, carbs or something else,  not a complete meal. Ours is a complete meal.

Something else I realized too. People have setpoints, sort of governors that limit how fast you can lose weight. This is very discouraging. Also, we all need our internal systems cleansed periodically to truly absorb quality nutrition. And the other thing is that many of us, this was my problem, have very sluggish metabolisms. Expecially when you get older and also for women who have gone through multiple pregnancies.

What our program does and what makes us different is that is does give you all the nutrition your body needs, it cleanses the system, speeds the metabolism —safely and breaks past weight loss set points.

You also get to eat real foods that are delicious

And not all of the other programs work. This morning I got a call from a woman who used First Fitness many years ago and switched to one of the OTC shakes that are really high sugar, low calorie, cheap junk. She told me that she desperately wants to go back on First Fitness and ordered the shakes, the Trimbolic and the Biomega. She was also addicted to the high sugar/caffeine energy drinks and wanted to get off them. She knows the difference.

As summer approaches, many will want to look great in their swimsuits. There is no other program anywhere that can get you results, quickly and safely as with First Fitness

Have A Happy & Healthy VALENTINES DAY this year By Tony DeFrancisco

Edit articlePublished on February 2, 2017

After Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years, the next most popular time for people to engage in overeating is coming up ….Valentines Day. Here are some tips to enable you to enjoy Valentines Day while staying healthy and keeping your weight under control.

Even though it is only February 1st, the candies are already coming out and parties are starting. Culminating will be the big day itself, February 14th – Valentines Day where people will go out, wine and dine.

The question I am getting from my clients is how do I enjoy Valentines Day and still not blow my diet or look like a stuffed pig? Others are wondering how they can have a good time and stay healthy.

Here are some suggestions.

As always drink lots of water. Drinking water can curb your appetite and cleanse your system. Stay away from soft drinks, even the diet drinks contain sodium which retains water and also contains many bad ingredients that are bad for your health.

Have a large glass of water and eat a salad BEFORE your main meal. Salads contain enzymes which help you digest, fiber to clean you out and roughage to fill you up so you don’t overeat. Salads can be prepared to be tasty and enjoyable.

Nuts make for great in

between meal snacks.

  • Go easy on the candy. Consider nuts especially almonds and walnuts. Tree nuts like almonds, walnuts and pistachios are rich in compounds called phytosterols that can help keep cholesterol in check. Try toasting them lightly in the oven or a dry frying pan to bring out their natural flavor. Then sprinkle them on top of steamed vegetables for a great side dish, or add them to your salad. I like putting walnuts and cinamon on my oatmeal in the morning.

Continue to start your day off with your morning shake. Choose your favorite flavor, Refer to Get Suddenly Slim for more shake recipes. With our shake, you can mix it with water instead of milk. Water is better for you. Milk can cause allergic reactions with many people.

To bolster your morning. Add Trimbolic and/or Biomega to your shake. This makes a delicious drink, fills you up and provides good quality nutrition.

For lunches, have your second shake. Skip the “Big Mac” attack. A shake contains only 170 calories, packed with nutrition, low fat protein, quality carbs, essential fatty acids, herbs, vitamins & minerals, digestive aides and more and will cost you less. We think those quick, “fast food” lunches don’t hurt. They do they add up. High fat. High calories, salt and no nutrition.

Institute or continue your exercise program. Find a workout partner. Your spouse or significant other is a good candidate. Set a goal to workout at least three times per week and never miss. Workout partners can inspire one another and assure that you keep the habit of exercise going.

As mentioned above, eat a salad before your main meal. And drink a large glass of water. For your main course, consider fish over red meats. Fish is low fat and heart healthy. Salmon is my personal favorite. Also high in Omega 3 fatty acids and tastes excellent.

Make sure you add your veggies.

And of course what is Valentines Day or dining out without a glass of wine or champagne? These should be used in moderation , as they are high in calories. However the good news is that they contain natural antioxidants from grapes. So there is a plus side to drinking alcohol.

As an alternative, you can make a festive non-alcoholic drink by adding a splash of 100% fruit juice to sparkling water. Red-purple juices like 100% grape and pomegranate juice are rich in polyphenols, naturally occurring compounds in the fruit, which help to increase blood flow and support healthy blood pressure. I like drinking Biomega which tastes delicious, is good for you, loaded with vitamins and minerals. Drink it out of your favorite champagne glass.

Contains whole leaf Aloe Vera, vitamins, macrominerals, botanical extracts, antioxidants, amino acids, and phytonutrients that support digestive health and whole body wellness

  • Now I know everyone is saying “What about chocolates. Well of course. No Valentine’s Day would be complete without a little bit of chocolate. Naturally occurring compounds in cocoa, called flavonoids, act as antioxidants. The darker the chocolate, the more flavonoids, so enjoy a bite of dark chocolate to finish your meal. For a doubly healthy dessert, drizzle some melted bittersweet chocolate over fresh berries. The natural red-purple pigments that give berries their beautiful color act as antioxidants, too.
  • Some Tidbits…………

Did you know the average person gains 7 – 15 pounds during in February up to Valentines Day?

It isn’t that difficult to prevent this. Just a few simple steps can help you not only not gain weight over the Valentines Day holiday, but actually lose. Try Trimbolic. Contains dietary fibers and botanical extracts that help satisfy your appetite, smooth cellulite, and support lean muscle tissue while losing weight

Consider Trimbolic…………….

Now A Product that….

* Makes you feel full

* Curbs the appetite

* Rids your body of celluite

* Lose weight in February while enjoying parties and meals

Message or call me and find out why Trimbolic will help keep the weight off and fight cellulite. Contains dietary fibers and botanical extracts that help satisfy your appetite, smooth cellulite, and support lean muscle tissue while losing weight.

Even with salads, your body needs a total cleansing. Reneu is the perfect product for this. Supports cleansing and detoxification of the inner body and colon to help enhance the absorption of food, vitamins and minerals, promote good health, and optimize weight loss

Also Slim Balm which naturally curbs the appetite. On your lips and off your hips. Slimbalm’s cooling blend of Essential Oils and Aromatherapy provides a scent, taste, and feel, which soothes the lips, controls appetite, and helps you lose weight.

Is Network Marketing for You? By Tony DeFrancisco

Edit article

Tony DeFrancisco

FirstFitness Nutrition, Supervisor

As I am writing this, we are only days away from bringing in 2017. A New Year and for many people, New goals. One of the biggest goals everyone sets is to earn more money and change careers. One of the best, in fact in my opinion, the very best way to increase cash flow and generate a high income, not to mention one of the finest careers anyone can get into is in fact Network Marketing or MLM.

Almost all of us have been approached by a well meaning friend or relative about getting into a network marketing or MLM company. Some times we may be invited over for dinner. And just when we think the dessert is coming out, instead a white board comes out or they plug in their laptop showing a video presentation on the wall of their home showing their company and introducing us to the real reason they invited us. This leaves us with a very bad impression of the industry and of our “friends” who supposedly invited us over for a nice, friendly dinner.

Let me just say that there are ethical ways to build this business that work. Tricking people is a strategy that doesn’t work and people who use this generally drop out quickly. And anyone who is approached under these conditions usually never gets in and spreads bad PR regarding the people doing this, their company and the industry as a whole.

Look who recommends Network Marketing/MLM……………………………………..

I was introduced to network marketing back in 1975. WOW that was 41 years ago last August. That is a long time and over that time I have heard it all from network marketers and those who for whatever reason have chosen not to get in network marketing or MLM.

First let’s address some issues and perhaps misconceptions:

Nobody makes money on mlm

This is a blatant lie or at the very least a huge misconception. Everybody can and will make money, if they do the work required and stick with it. But not everyone wants to do the work required to earn money. Network marketing is just like any other business. If you own a restaurant and are never open, you won’t earn any money. If you don’t work it, the business doesn’t work. If you go to your job everyday and don’t work, you’ll be gone in no time.

Many people also don’t want to go through the training required to be successful. Some get into with bozo companies and bozo uplines who don’t help or know how to help. Just sign you up and then say, “Go get em tiger!”

Some people can’t handle the rejection they get. They see the opportunity and immediately assume that everyone they know will jump in and take off like a rocket. Reality is many will not get in and those who do will drop out. Few people are thick skinned enough to stay in and over come this. Those who do, will be rewarded.

When I first started in network marketing, a very good friend of mine was my upline and at the time was working full time as a college professor for a local university. He was earning at his job as a professor around $45,000. This was 1975 remember when you could buy a cadillac for $5,000 and a nice home for $19,000 so this was a high salary at that time. Inside of 9 months, he left his full time job as a professor and went full bore into his mlm business. A short while later, he was making double what he was making a college prof. Sometime later, his income over his salary as a Prof tripled and he developed a nationwide organization starting in a small town off less than 9,000 people. Tell him it doesn’t work.

A year later I had another friend who started in a new network marketing company with the original high protein/low carbohydrate diet shake. My friend was in serious financial trouble when he started. He was close to losing his home and deeply in debt. 10 months later he was earning $25,000 a month from his part time business. $25,000 in 1977 dollars is like $100,000 today. Tell him network marketing doesn’t work.

What my two friends did was rolled up their sleeves and went to work.

Another friend of mine from Orlando was on unemployment. He had a contracting business that went belly up. He was on unemployment and so broke that he had to borrow $29 to enroll in the the business. Started in network marketing and year later was a millionaire. 2 years later he was retired living on a boat in Hawaii.

Perhaps the most successful person I have ever met in network marketing/MLM is Brad Hager. If you have been involved in network marketing at all, you know the name. I have known Brad since we worked together over 14 years ago. If you don’t know who Brad is, he is a high 7 figure income producer. He has been at the top of three different network marketing companies proving that his success was not a one shot lucky deal. He has also helped to create 12 millionaires. He is a leader, no nonsense, talks the walk and walks the talk. Brad also introduced me to John Maxwell’s training. Brad used to work as a salesman for a company in North Carolina. He made what some people would think was good money. But he lacked freedom and discovered Network Marketing/MLM. His life has changed. Now he has time, money and freedom. You don’t get that with a J-O-B folks. You only get that via network marketing/MLM.

Even people who own conventional businesses don’t have time and freedom. In many cases , they bough a business which is now a job and now the business owns them.

The point is. It works but only when you have the right program and are willing to work.

Isn’t this just a pyramid scheme?

Another major myth. Unfortunately there have been companies claiming to be network marketing which were pyramids. And they get shut down. Burn Lounge is one example. In the 1970s there was Holiday Magic and Bestline and many others. These always get shut down. And rightfully so.

Pyramids require upfront loading. There is compensation for merely enrolling someone in the program. “Headhunter” fees. In legitimate network marketing you can start at a nominal fee, perhaps the cost of dinner, there is no front end loading and your upline only gets paid when you produce. Not by merely enrolling you. The true pyramids as already mentioned get shut down and fairly quickly.

Shaklee is the oldest network marketing company and has been around since 1954. Then enter Amway which started in 1959. Then Mary Kay since 1963. Herbalife started in 1980. Nu Skin shortly thereafter. These companies have been around a long time. Network marketing aka MLM started in the 1930s with Nutrilite which is now part of Amway. If any of these companies were pyramids and illegal. They would have been shut down long ago.

For the past four years, a irresponsible activist from New York has been making a case that Herbalife is a pyramid scheme. Last June, after a extensive investigation, the FTC decided otherwise. Hebalife is not a pyramid. Nor is Amway. Nor are the other reputable Network Marketing/MLM companies.

Saturation

Yet another misconception is the saturation myth. If everybody gets in how can you make money? Shaklee, Amway, Mary Kay and Herbalife have been around forever and have yet to even come close to saturating the market. Today there are hundreds of mlm companies and we are not even close to saturation. In fact, saturation will never occur. Babies are being born everyday. People are turning 18 everyday. People are getting married everyday. No matter how much business all of the networking marketing companies combined do, they will always be behind. There is no way to saturate the market.

The Products Are Overpriced. Too Expensive. Commodties. Can be bought elsewhere

Here is another mistatement. If you are in a quality Network Marketing/MLM Company, your products will be of a better value. And they will be different that what you can find anywhere else. They should also be fairly priced. And with quality companies they are. People spend $4 for Starbucks coffee, $2-$3 for bottled water. $4,000 for water devices. Why? Because these products offer something different than just making a a pot of coffee, drinking faucet water or buying a cheap water filer in a store. They are unique. If your company does not offer unique products, different and better than what else is out there, move on.

New companies

A common mistake is to jump into a “new” company. “Get in on the ground floor” They will say. “Be the first” Unfortunately, many of these companies are not very well capitalized or very well managed. Usually they are started by someone who had some success as a distributor, but no real business savvy and usually they close up quickly.

Nationwide Opportunity

When looking at a network marketing opportunity, some look for one that is international. The more countries the better they say. Today, thanks to the internet you can chat with someone on the other side of the world as easily as you can across the street and almost everyone knows people in other countries. This is all well and good and I like international companies. That said, the USA is a large place. Plenty of people right here, in fact right in your home town without worrying about building in Asia, Europe, Africa and elsewhere. I suggest starting with people in your own community. If you find a company that is international, GREAT. But don’t go on the other side of the world untill you go across the street.

Training

If the network marketing/MLM company does not offer training, look for another company. Most companies offer training right online on their websites, weekly webinars, regular meetings and rallies and encourage additional training. The books to read. The CDs to listen to. The DVDs to watch etc. Most of us understand the value of education EXCEPT in Network Marketing/MLM here they think they can figure it out all by themselves. Not so. The people who earn high incomes are constantly training, studying their craft, their company, products, people skills and communication skills. The more they learn, the more they earn.

New Products

Older companies can still grow as long as they have newer products to excite distributors and customers. Products must be unique, exciting and high quality. They must offer meaningful and measurable results

New divisions

Many companies will open new divisions which is sort of like a brand new company under the branch of a larger, older company. So you have the best of all worlds.

Marketing plan

The marketing must be fair to all. It can’t be front loaded so only leaders make a huge sum or back loaded so once again only leaders with huge organizations can enjoy the profits. Study the marketing plan and make sure it is right for you. In true network marketing, everyone has the same chance to succeed. Everyone can reach the top position.

Meetings

One of the issues I have had with many companies is the preponderance of meetings that a distributor is required to attend. Meetings are great but can be overdone. Look for a company where you can build your business over the phone and internet with local meetings as well. And when you do conduct meetings, they can be held at places likes Denny’s or Starbucks. The business should be fun, simple and easy and also prosperous when done correctly. Meetings produce energy and commonality among representatives. I recommend them in addition not in place of working in the field and building your business. Meetings are especially useful when you are first starting the business. Just don’t overdo them.

A new opportunity

I was recently approached to enroll in a new network marketing company. Most of you who know me are aware that I have been working another program for the last 4 years or so. I get hit on everyday and always refuse because those other companies just don’t offer what I am looking for.

This opportunity on the other hands seemed to be exactly what I was looking for. Quality products, fairly priced, a great compensation plan that is fair to all and a nationwide opportunity to build business around the country.

Why Diets Don’t Work; How to really lose as much as 30 lbs in 30 days and over 100 lbs in a year and keep it off forever. By Tony DeFrancisco.

Dieting has become almost a national pastime. Talk to anyone at any given time and they will tell you they are on or going on a diet. Look at any women’s magazine. You will see articles on the most popular diet of the day. Turn on tv and more ads on weight loss and diets. It goes on and on.

I am sure everyone understands that being overweight, aside from being unsightly is extremely unhealthy. Every excess pound of fat requires 4,000 feet of blood vessels to nourish. It has been determined that we will die 6 months to a 1 year sooner for every excess pound of weight.

Indeed. Excess body fat is one of the most challenging health conditions of our day. Although no one wants to be overweight, only 5% of obese individuals are ever able to attain and maintain “normal” body weight.

Recent estimates show that at least 50% of the adult population is clinically overweight—and the number of obese children has doubled in the last 36 years with no sign of slowing down. As a result more than 50 million Americans can be found dieting . But the wisdom of so called dieting has come into question. Studies at weight loss centers in medical clinics show that most people almost always regain the weight they lose

Researchers have found “yo-yo” dieting may be as bad for you as too much weight in the first place. It is also well documented that being overweight catalyzes the degenerative diseases of aging and shortens an otherwise healthy lifespan. With data like this, it is no wonder why so many Americans are frustrated, discouraged and literally sick from diet failure.

Medical research has discovered the primary factors that are responsible for excessive fat gain and the inability to lose those stored pounds of excess fat. And now there is a weight loss program, scientifically designed that helps your body to shed even those hard to lose pounds once and for all.

http://superfitness.firstfitness.com/index.php?pg=weight_loss

Excessive fatness often begins early in childhood. And if this occurs, chances of being constantly overweight in adult life are three time greater compared to children of normal body weight. Simply stated, a child goes not grow out of a obesity problem. Excessive fatness also develops slowly during the adult years. Middle aged men and women invariably weigh more than their college aged counterparts of the same height. In the western world the average 35 year old gains between 0.2 and 0.8. kg of fat each year despite a progressive decrease in food. From age 25 to 35 the average man’s waistline increases 6 inches.

Many experts seem to agree on a new viewpoint on obesity. Until recently, the major cause of being chronically overweight was believed to be over eating. If this were the case, however, excessive body fat could easily be eliminated as a major debilitator of health just by cutting back on portions of food. But this is not the case. There are obviously other factors at work such as genetic code, environmental challenges and social influences.

Research has isolated some key factors which significantly contribute to being overweight. They are “set point ” problems, hyperinsulin secretion, defective brown fat thermogensis and toxic body and bowel conditions. It is important to remember that these factors overlap and interact with each other along with other factors which contribute to someone being excessively overweight.

These problems are as follows:

*Set Point Problems–Research with humans has found that each person has a programmed “set point” This set point works much like a thermostat in your home to maintain constant temperature. But in this case, fat, not temperature, is regulated. It has been postulated that individual fat cells control this set point: when the fat cells become smaller, it sends a message to the brain to eat. Since obese and overweight individuals often have more and larger fat cells, the result is an overpowering urge to eat. This explains why most diets don’t work. While the over weight individual can fight off the impulse for a time, eventually the signal becomes too strong to ignore. The result is “rebound overeating,” often exceeding the individuals previous weight. In addition, his or her set point becomes established at an even higher level – making it even more difficult to lose weight.

*Defective Thermogensis-when you attempt to diet, your body works against you by slowing your metabolic rate so you store more of the food you are eating as fat than you would if you were not restricting your caloric intake.

This is part of a built in program that protects people from starvation if food supplies become scarce. This is one reason why, when you go “off” a diet, you quickly accumulate more fat because the body is programmed to think another diet might strike at any time. So your set point “signals” your body to eat.

When you eat, three things can happen to your food calories:

1)They can supply you with the your body’s energy needs;

2) They can be stored away as “white” fat; or

3) They can be burned up by special cells of the body known as brown fat.

This latter process is called “thermogensis” which means “the generation of heat” To increase body temperature, the cells have to burn calories to make heat. And the major fuel for generating heat is fat. Thermogensis is a normal physiological process that serves two functions:

1) To prevent fats consumed at meals from being stored as “white” fat

2) To burn stored calories acquired from stored white fat

The result: You lose weight. But more importantly, the weight you lose will be fat. On most diets, weight lost is typically lean tissue and water and very little fat.

Unfortunately, aging, obesity and poor genetics can impair your thermogenic capacities. Your “sudden” weight gain–and your difficulty for losing weight–may be the result of your shut down of the brown fat thermogenic mechanism. So, no matter, what you do, the weight remains or increases.

*Toxic Body and Bowel Conditions–Many studies show that the bowels produce poisons which are carried to other regions of the body and cause a variety of problems including excess weight and difficulty in weight loss. A toxic body produces endotoxins, which play a role in damaging the liver and makes losing fat even more difficult. A key cause of a toxic bowel is the normal American diet of high fat, low fiber, refined “junk” foods and simple sugars. The typical American consumes only a fraction of the required fibers for a healthy colon and the resultant ability to eliminate body waste. Plus, our gastro intestinal tract may harbor a wide assortment of pathogenic microorganisms, which include various parasites and yeasts.

Candida Albicans, for example, is a common, yeast like fungus found inside and outside all living things. It is present on skin surfaces and covers the internal mucosal surfaces of the entire alimentary tract. Candida is also found in women’s vaginas and in the blood of most people regardless of gender. When Candida yeast cells are rapidly killed off by the immune system or drug treatment, a “die off” (or Herxheimer) reaction occurs.

Dying yeasts release a massive amount of toxic proteins that cross cell membranes, enter the bloodstream, and trigger intense irritations and discomfort. Yeast survives by eating sugars. As a result, the discomfort due to this die-off reaction may cause an infected individual to overeat sugars and refined carbohydrates to nourish yeast and stop the Candida die-off reaction. As mentioned before, the consumption of pancreatic insulin that pushed fat into cells thereby causing weight gain and preventing the cells from shrinking.

The liver which is the largest organ in the body, is responsible for turning many toxic materials into non toxic, usable substances. But our liver can also become damaged by the very toxins it is designed to break down. Research has shown that liver functions are disturbed in many overweight individuals. A damaged liver prevents the conversion of thyroid gland hormones (master regulators of metabolic rate) into their active form. These hormones are required to activate muscles and brown fat thermogenesis in order to burn up calories. , lose stored fat and to prevent gaining excess fat .

THE ANSWER>>>>>>

A breakthrough program overcoming the primary factors that cause you to gain weight. A successful program for losing excessive body fat is consistent with the basic tenets of holistic health and counteracts each of the previously discussed primary factors which are responsible which are responsible for being overweight. All components are critical and inter related, creating a system where no single component is more important than another. Improvement is one facet that may be enough to result in some positive changes, but impacting all three yields the greatest weight loss results.

This system is a synergy of four powerful products that includes an exclusive fat burning menu using real foods. It includes the use of sugar free gelatin, a well designed assortment of food flavorings, liquids, a variety of meat, fish and poultry, fruits, salad materials and thermic vegetables. Thermic vegetables are those that promote rapid weight loss because they consume more calories than they contain.

CAUTION: Fad Diets Don’t Work and Can Be Dangerous To Your Health. By Tony DeFrancisco

Way back in November, 1978, in the wake of the Liquid Protein Fad diet, I wrote this article for our local newspaper, The Press-Enterprise in Berwick, Pa. This article evoked a tremendous response in our community and was picked up by other newspapers in our region and state. Many people thanked me publicly for saving them from the ravages of a disastrous scam called Liquid Protein.

Now, nearly 40 years later, the gimmicky, fad diets and products still abound. This is an edited version of that article I wrote so many years ago. Interesting too that then as now, I was involved in a quality nutritional company with Lee Causey. Back then it was Slender Now. Today it is Suddenly Slim. This is the most advanced weight loss program on the market. I have lost 90 lbs with it. Safe and effective. Read on. Comments welcome….

CAUTION: Fad Diets Can Be Hazardous to Your Health
By Tony C DeFrancisco

Over 42 years ago, a young charismatic man named Lee Causey entered into the weight loss industry with a product called Slender Now. Lee’s owned chain of health spas in the southeastern united states and his ambition was driven by the dissatisfaction of his spa members in losing weight. Lee wanted to find a product that would help people lose weight safely and he did just that with Slender Now. This was back in 1974 and Slender Now was the world’s first diet shake. Today the most advanced version of the Slender Now product is made available by First Fitness called Body FX and also created by Lee Causey.

Things have not changed a whole lot since 1974. There are still diet fads and gimmicks out there. And even with the success of First Fitness Body FX, today in 2016, there are more people overweight than ever before.

Unfortunately many people have fallen prey to huksters and promoters of gimmicky products and diet plans, some of which are very dangerous. In the 1970’s, we had the liquid protein fad which in turn caused over 1030 reported deaths. In the 1990s we had the fat burner products using dangerous ingredients like Mau Huang and Ephedra.

The liquid protein diets of the 1970s, aside from being dangerous also caused confusion with safe and effective diet shake products like the Slender Now program I was promoting and using at the time. Liquid Protein was incomplete protein derived from cowhide and pigs. Add some cherry or orange flavoring and now you had a gel like product that was used as a sole source diet product. It only contained 300 calories, 0 carbs, high protein, but no usable protein and no real food. No salads. No fruits. No veggies and you were also advised to restrict water. No wonder people died on this FAD DIET!

Today we still have dangerous diets that purport to stall the hunger so you lose weight. Does it work? Yes. Is it safe? Hardly.

The first rule should always be safety. Complete nutrition is the rule. When dieters reduce calories, they also cut back on nutrition so therefore, diet products that merely cut the appetite will make you eat less for sure but end up nutritionally depleted.

The ideal diet program is one that provides the macro nutrients, protein, carbohydrates and essential fatty acids plus fiber and the micro nutrients, vitamins and minerals. Should be at least 1,000 calories and Include real food. Also the program that creates weight loss should be very similar to what you use to maintain your weight otherwise you will merely regain the weight you lost.

And real foods lets you enjoy life while you are dieting. How many times have you been on a diet and lamented, “I can’t wait until I take this weight off so I can go back to eating some foods I love.”

I have lost over 90 lbs using a sensible program after failing miserably for years and I get to eat the foods I love. Always have at least one meal a day eating fish or meat, veggies and a salad. Also include grains daily with my daily serving of oatmeal.

Here are some other tips:

Weigh and measure yourself. Get a fat to muscle analysis done. When using a good program, you will lose fat more than mere weight and maintain even build muscle. In the long run this will keep you trim and healthy.

For quick and safe weight loss, replace two meals a day with a low calorie healthy meal replacement. Be sure that the meal replacement you use is not just a high protein or high carbohydrate drink. It should include protein, carbs and essential fats. Not just one. Many of the popular shakes may contain one of the macro nutrients, but not all.

Buy the book Get Suddenly Slim available at better book stores or through me. It’s an easy read, 144 pages packe with information, recipes, diet shakes and tips.

The #1 Shake on the market. Contains Protein, Carbs, Fats, Vit/Min, Herbs,    digestive enzymes and more. Can be mixed with water and it tastes  great. Like Hagen Daz Ice Cream. No kidding!

Also look out for the popular shakes sold over the counter which are merely low calorie drinks highly sweetened with sugar. I’ve tried those. I lost weight all right but also had flab hanging all over. And ended up with my skin breaking out and my teeth ached from the large amount of sugar used to make these shakes taste good.

Program should provide a vitamin and mineral supplement and especially high in B vitamins. These are crucial during weight loss. Vitamin B-6 in particular aids in tranquility, a major issue for anyone who has dieted and removes excess water. It has been determined that for every pound of weight lost, the dieter will gain a pound and a half of water. B6 helps eliminate excess fluids.
Herbs are very useful for weight loss programs both because they contain known and unknown nutrients to the body, providing even more nutrition and certain herbs assist with weight loss and cleansing.

Why cleansing? Inside the body are little finger like protrusions called the villi. Food passes through the villi for absorption. Big problem, over time the villi becomes clogged and cannot utilize the nutritrients in food and food supplements. So you end up nutritionally starved even though you are taking supplements.

Something else to consider, who actually designs these products and programs? The company I am with has a very impressive medical advisory board. If you are putting things into your body, you had better be sure that the people who designed them know what they are doing.

You also need to remove candida albicans which causes carb cravings and wreaks havoc on your diet. A good nutritionally balanced weight program, not merely a “Fad Diet”  will block out candida albicans and keep you on track with your weight loss goals.

Some people have metabolisms that are so slow that they need to jar it. One way is with exercise, especially cardio which is the fastest way  to stimulate your metabolism and burn fat quickly. The other form of exercise what results in fat burning is weight training/bodybuilding. Muscle burns calories at rest. As you build muscle on your frame, your body naturally loses pounds and inches and gives females a great curvy figure. And men a more athletic appearance.

Another way to jar your metabolism is with Xanolean Supreme.  Remember those fat burner products from the 90s? This works like they did except it is safe. A powerful nutrient-rich herbal formula designed to help curb appetite, help reduce belly fat, promote the fat burning process, and increase energy.

It should be noted as well that this is why your weight loss program needs to be high in protein. Not just protein, but high in protein. This is what maintains muscle and burns fat. Have you even wondered why when you go on typical diets and weight loss programs an lose a lot of weight, you gain it right back again? One reason is because your weight loss program was too low in protein. You lost muscle and very little fat. Hence your weight jumps right back up again.

For ladies who suffer from that dreaded Cellulite or guys who have those handlebars on the sides of the waist and fatty tissue on the back of the legs that is so hard to get rid of, tryTRIMBOLIC®Fat & Cellulite FighterContains dietary fibers and botanical extracts that help satisfy your appetite, smooth cellulite, and support lean muscle tissue while losing weight.

Trimbolic is great as a inbetween meal snack, high in fiber, complex carbs and fat burners. This product is truly unique and tastes delicious.

Other things to look for. Does the promoter of the product or program offer Free Coaching or counseling?

I have bought many programs from stores as well as other sources and never found this to be, except in one case, the company I am working with now.

Drink water every day and throughout the day. Sip it throughout the day even if you don’t feel thirsty. To figure out the correct amount of water to drink for you, take your weight divide by 2 and add 8. That is the amount in ounces that you should drink every day.

Put the water in fancy glasses to make it more desirable. Add ice cubes. Make a water shake. Throw 8-10 oz of water in a blender with 4-5 ice cubes. Delicious. Cold. And steps up the fat loss.

Spice up your water with cucumbers or lemons.

TIP: Cold water will help you lose weight faster than room temperature water. The colder the better. Tastes better and will help you lose weight faster too.

Eat real foods.

Exercise. Both cardio and weights. Both will speed weight loss, improve your health and tone you up. If exercise is not right for you, can you at least walk 1 mile per day?

When using weights, start light. Do higher repetitions, 10-15 for lower body and 8-10 for upper body. Work the large muscle groups, chest, legs and back especially. This will burn more calories. Work the stomach everyday. Do cardio at least 3x per week. Low impact like treadmill, cycling, stair stepper etc.

Set daily, weekly, monthly and yearly weight loss goals.

If using a “shake” is it merely a protein shake? And is the protein complete? Many shakes use low quality protein sources that are not complete and cannot be used by the body unless taken with a complete protein. Be careful what you use. And as mentioned earlier, a meal replacement needs more than just protein. It needs to be like a meal.

Stay clear of fast food places. These are mostly high calorie, high salt, high fat, low nutrition that will really stall your weight loss and not good for your health. I know, I used to stop there all the time. That is how my weight ballooned to really dangerous levels.

Some of you may be wondering, “How much does a program like this cost?” Excellent question. You may be happy to know that I saved over $400 a month on medications, fast foods, energy drinks and other supplements that I thought I needed. On average it costs about $4 a day. Or about half what you would spend at a fast food place.
